A 13-year-old British boy has sued his parents after they abandoned him at a boarding school in Africa.
A teenager has filed a family court case to try to return home after his parents physically and emotionally abandoned him.
The boy contacted the British consulate and a child protection organization because his parents had enrolled him in a school in Africa and then flown home, the Metro newspaper emphasizes.
The boy said that at school he was poorly fed, taught and treated cruelly.
The teenager also claimed he was subjected to physical abuse and restrictive measures at home in the UK.
Lawyers say the 13-year-old boy took extreme steps to remedy a terrible situation.
The boy's parents said they left him at a boarding school in Africa over fears he would join a London gang.
According to the father, his son's behavior showed a clear tendency toward criminal behavior.
A spokeswoman for the parents said the boy had huge potential which would likely be wasted if he returned to the UK.
