The suspect in the high-profile crime was hiding from justice in Bodrum, Turkey.
Local law enforcement officers detained the man on Wednesday, July 24. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported this on his social media page and published a photo of the detainee.
When Russian law enforcement officials received information that the suspect had fled to Turkey, they contacted local police through Interpol.
The Russian side provided all the necessary information and a man named Evgeniy Serebryakov was detained in Bodrum. He arrived here on a flight from Moscow.
Local law enforcement officers carried out an operation and Serebryakov was detained on the day of his arrival in Turkey. Work is currently underway to extradite the Russian.
Thus, the suspect was detained less than a day after the crime was committed.
Details of the incident
The incident occurred in Moscow on July 24 on Sinyavinskaya Street. A Toyota SUV was blown up there. A man and his wife were injured.
An improvised explosive device attached to the bottom of the car was used to detonate the bomb.
The media reported that the attackers' target was allegedly the deputy head of the satellite communications radio center, Andrei Torgashev. He later contacted and denied this information.
