Russian wanted to burn down a friend's cafe in Sochi for debts and mixed up the establishments

In Sochi, a man wanted to take revenge on a debtor, but instead caused harm to another person.

Details were reported on the official Telegram channel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Krasnodar Krai.

The incident occurred in the Lazarevsky district late at night. Firefighters received a message about a burning cafe building on Sochi Highway.

When the fire was extinguished, experts determined that it was the result of arson. Traces of flammable liquid were found.

The police conducted an investigation and found a 34-year-old resident of Novorossiysk. He was detained in a rented apartment in Sochi.

The perpetrator explained that he committed the arson in an attempt to take revenge on a friend from Sochi who owed him money and was in no hurry to return it.

But at the moment of carrying out his plan, he mixed up the cafe. As a result, damages of 3 million rubles were caused to another establishment.

The police opened a criminal case. The suspect was remanded in custody.
