A Russian man has been sentenced to three years in prison by a decision of the Federal Court for the Southern District of New York.

He is accused of purchasing dual-use microelectronics from the United States for the Russian Federation.

The Russian will serve his sentence without filing an appeal against the court's decision, TASS reports, citing lawyer Kerry Lawrence.

The defense stated that the convicted man will not appeal the verdict, despite the possible exaggeration of his actions.

The Russian was arrested in September 2023 on charges of smuggling microelectronics to Russia.
