Rostransnadzor specialists have revealed details of the inspection of tankers that sank in the Kerch Strait.
Experts identified violations that likely led to the incident.
The details were revealed by the Russian Ministry of Transport on its Telegram channel.
Rostransnadzor inspected the company ZAO Volgatransneft.
Firstly, the presence of the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 in the Kerch Strait was a violation of seasonal restrictions on navigation in the water area.
Secondly, a number of vessels of this enterprise do not have a license to transport dangerous goods by inland waterway and sea transport.

Work continues to eliminate the consequences of the incident that occurred on December 15.
More than 170 square kilometers of water area were surveyed for pollution.
More than 24,300 square meters have been cleared of fuel oil.
In addition, emergency rescue teams cleared 4,800 square meters of beaches and coastal areas.
About 14,500 tons of oil-containing waste were collected.
Volunteers who come from different regions of the country are taking an active part in eliminating the consequences of the emergency.
