It has become known what term of imprisonment Dmitry Gordon may face*.
The state prosecutor requested 14 years in prison for the journalist.
TASS journalists learned this information in the courtroom of the 2nd Western District Military Court.
Dmitry Gordon* is charged under two articles:
- public call to terrorism;
- dissemination of knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces.
The court hearing is being held in absentia, since Gordon* is abroad. The accused has not indicated his position on what is happening.
Circumstances of the case
Gordon* became a defendant in the case after posting three provocative videos on his YouTube channel.
In them, the journalist calls for the elimination of the Russian and Belarusian heads of state, and also disseminates false information about the actions of the authorities and the army.
The videos above were posted in March 2022.
Earlier, Gordon* stated that the US President “should drop an atomic bomb on the Russian Federation.”
