A pickpocket has been arrested in St. Petersburg for stealing money from tourists in the Hermitage. RIA Novosti reports the details, citing the press service of the regional headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is noted that several people contacted the police due to the theft of funds.
According to the press service, the police immediately got to work. They identified the suspect - a 51-year-old man with a criminal record in the past. Now he will face punishment.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that in 2020, the man was detained for theft committed against a woman from Japan. At that time, the offender was given a suspended sentence of 1.5 years.
