A fatal traffic accident occurred in Saratov.
The driver of a Niva hit a 14-year-old teenager, who died as a result of the incident.
The incident was reported by RIA Novosti , citing information provided by the city State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.
According to the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the fatal accident occurred near the village of Rakovo at around 18:00 local time (17:00 Moscow time).
The driver, born in 1968, who was driving a Chevrolet Niva, for an unknown reason ran over a teenager.
The minor pedestrian received serious injuries and died from them on the spot. The remaining circumstances of the incident are being investigated; State Traffic Inspectorate officers are working on the scene.
Law enforcement officers reminded drivers of the importance of observing the speed limit in conditions of poor visibility and addressed pedestrians, calling on them to use reflective elements.
