A native of Nigeria managed to deceive a woman out of about 5 million rubles.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported this on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that other Russian women could have become victims of the gigolo. The offender has been detained, and several criminal cases have been initiated against him.
Circumstances of the case
As the investigation revealed, the young man found potential victims on social networks.
He quickly gained the trust of lonely women and told them that he had sent a gift from abroad, for the payment of which a certain amount was required.
The victims transferred the required amount, after which the attacker disappeared.
According to preliminary data, several women from different regions of Russia may have suffered from the actions of the Nigerian. In particular, it is currently known that the gigolo deceived residents of Obninsk and Lensk.
It is noted that the women also transferred money to the fraudster under the pretext of paying for moving, renting housing, and studying in the Russian Federation.
