The murder of the actor of the Azerbaijan Academic Russian Drama Theatre, Iosif Tkach, and his wife in Baku became a high-profile case.
The suspect Islam Khadyev owed a large sum to the couple.
According to law enforcement agencies, Khadyev, while working as a handyman in the actor’s apartment, borrowed about 50 thousand manats (about 30 thousand dollars) from him, RIA Novosti writes.
Conflicts periodically arose between the men due to unpaid debts.
On the day when Khadyev was supposed to return the money, he came to Tkach’s apartment, committed murder, stole jewelry and ran away.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of the suspect on October 22.
Iosif Tkach was a famous actor, who is known for his role in the TV series "Count Krestovsky".
The accused killed the actor and his wife over an unpaid debt that he had no intention of repaying.
