An unusual incident that occurred near Smolensk has become known.
The woman complained that due to the failure of public utilities, she had to take her mother's body to the morgue herself.
The Smolensk prosecutor's office reported this on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the department has initiated an investigation into the incident and intends to assess the improper implementation of existing funeral legislation by local government bodies.
Circumstances of the case
As specified in the publication, the episode described occurred on October 31.
The police informed the woman that her mother's lifeless body had been found in a ravine in the Pochinkovsky district.
She was told that the service of transporting corpses was not free, and so the woman, together with her husband and a police officer, removed the body from the ravine themselves.
However, the misadventures did not end there. According to the victim, she had to personally transport her mother's body to the morgue, located 30 kilometers away in Smolensk.
Upon arrival in the city, it turned out that there was no one there, since the morgue was open until 15:00. The woman went to get the keys to the morgue herself to place her mother's body in the morgue, after which she had to take the keys back.
