The boy was found alive in a supermarket a few days after his escape, the regional Investigative Committee's Telegram channel emphasized.
During the investigation it was revealed that the stepfather forced the child to sleep in cold rooms without clothes. He inflicted bodily harm on the boy.
A criminal case has been opened against the man for torturing a minor.
The boy was removed from his family and transferred to a social institution, where psychologists are working with him.
The investigation established that the boy's mother was also involved in the humiliating abuse. She was charged with torture and refusing to feed the child.
The issue of arresting the mother and stepfather of the injured child is currently being decided.
In addition, a criminal case was opened on the fact of negligence of officials who failed to ensure the protection of the child.
