As the Ministry of Emergency Situations shared on its Telegram channel, the sad statistics have exceeded the 40-person mark.
It is noted that a total of 47 incidents were registered on water bodies. The exact number of fatalities is 42, including 7 children.
According to the agency, most drowning cases are associated with unequipped swimming areas.
One of the incidents occurred on the Volga Rowing Canal in Nizhny Novgorod. A 16-year-old girl drowned there, and her body was pulled out by divers.
A similar incident occurred near the Irkutsk village of Kundui, where a 15-year-old teenager swam across a body of water with his father and uncle, but ended up disappearing under water. His body was also pulled out of the water by rescuers.
There were also accidents on equipped beaches. In the Belgorod region, a man was swimming with his six-year-old son, but he misjudged his strength and drowned.
Earlier it was reported that the body of a teenager who drowned in a quarry was found in Ussuriysk.
