Fraudsters, on behalf of so-called “dead souls,” entered into fictitious contracts with the Ministry of Defense for military service.
The message on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region says: “Fraudsters appropriated the money received under contracts.”
They received monthly payments of 50 thousand rubles and a lump sum payment of 500 thousand rubles.
Police officers stopped the activities of a criminal group and established the identities of two fictitiously employed citizens.
The damage from their actions amounted to more than 1 million rubles. A criminal case was opened against the perpetrators under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
