Deputy Mikhail Matveyev tried to break up the fight and was attacked by a group of visitors.
The parliamentarian himself shared the details on his Telegram channel. He recorded a video directly from the scene.
Matveyev said that the incident took place in Samara. Here the deputy witnessed three foreigners with sticks attacking city residents.
The MP was driving a car at the time. There was a driver behind the wheel. The two of them approached the migrants. Matveyev took out his ID and only managed to say: "Stop!"
At that moment, one of the hooligans hit him on the head with a stick. The deputy managed to detain one of the offenders. He called the police and an ambulance.
Matveyev took the migrant's passport and said he would hand it over to the police station. The MP expressed hope that the young man would tell law enforcement about his comrades who had disappeared.
