The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, reported the incident on her Telegram channel.
A criminal case was opened against the 39-year-old man, who worked as a loader and had previously been convicted of similar crimes, under the article on attempted rape of a minor.
Circumstances of the case
As the investigation found out, the attempted attack on the schoolgirl took place on September 16. The victim's mother filed a corresponding statement with law enforcement agencies.
The man saw a 13-year-old girl and followed her into the entrance, then followed her into the elevator.
When the lifting device reached the top floor of the building, the suspect took out a knife and began threatening the minor, trying to persuade her to commit violence.
The girl started screaming, which scared off the criminal, who was then found by operatives.
