Circumstances of the incident
As emphasized in the official Telegram channel of the Novosibirsk Region Prosecutor's Office, the defendant in the case committed the offense while intoxicated.
On May 15, 2024, he was drinking alcohol near the Eternal Flame of the Glory Monument in honor of the feat of Siberians during the Great Patriotic War.
The man poured the remains of the alcoholic drinks into the Eternal Flame, causing the flame to go out.
The state prosecution found the young man guilty of desecrating symbols of Russia's military glory and brought him to justice. It is noted that the position of the state prosecutor was also supported by the deputy prosecutor of the Novosibirsk region, Igor Mishchenko.
