The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has summed up the increase in cases of attempted arson and blowing up of buildings in the Russian Federation.
In the last 9 days alone, 44 people have been arrested for committing similar offenses.
MVD Media shared this information on its official website.
As noted in the publication, Russian citizens made active attempts to set fire to or blow up administrative buildings in the country.
We are talking about post offices and bank branches, as well as police vehicles and administration buildings of various cities.
Cases were recorded everywhere: in the capital Moscow, as well as St. Petersburg and regions of Russia, including Tver, Tula, Pskov regions, etc.
In total, 55 similar incidents occurred between December 18 and 25, and the perpetrators were quickly identified and detained.
Most of the 44 perpetrators of these incidents turned out to be pensioners and schoolchildren who acted on the instructions of anonymous curators who contacted them by telephone.
Schoolchildren and students most often acted for the sake of profit; some perpetrators were forced to act by using blackmail.
