In Irkutsk, a pensioner killed two of her grandchildren and changed her appearance so that she would not be found.
The tragedy happened in her apartment, where the bodies of children aged 6 and 8 were later found.
Investigators report that the woman decided to commit the crime because of mental illness, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports.
She did it in a state of passion, but the reasons for the murder have not yet been clarified.
After the crime, the pensioner cut her hair to change her appearance and try to escape.
The police could not find the accused for many years. The case was closed after the suspect's daughter identified her in one of the discovered bodies.
