Investigators have completed work on the criminal case against Khristev's gang of killers.
The group consisted of former security officials and operated for a quarter of a century.
The Russian Investigative Committee has completed its investigative actions in this case, TASS reported on Thursday, November 7, citing court documents.
The group was founded in 1998 and operated in Moscow until 2023.
The gang consisted of about 20 people. Many of them worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs or were military personnel.
The volume of materials in the criminal case exceeds 80 volumes.
Thus, in 2004, members of the organized crime group received an order to kidnap and murder the owner of the Krasnogvardeisky market in Moscow and his common-law wife.
A total of 14 people are accused in the Khristev gang case. At the same time, the criminal case against 11 of them has been separated into separate proceedings.
One of the leaders of the group was former military man Pavel Khristev.
