The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region has released information that a resident of the region was sentenced to 10 years.
The reason given is the defendant's attempt to kill her own 2.5 month old daughter.
Investigators explained: “The woman will serve her sentence in a general regime penal colony,” as reported by the newspaper “ Arguments and Facts .”
It is also emphasized that the offender will be subject to a restriction of freedom for one year and six months.
Criminal case
It is reported that the woman was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30, Subparagraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
The article provides for liability for attempted murder of a minor.
The authorized bodies established that on the night of January 6-7, 2024, the defendant, while intoxicated, grabbed her daughter by the legs.
After this, the woman forcefully threw the girl to the floor and kicked her in the head.
The child was saved by a man who was in the apartment. The victim was diagnosed with serious injuries, but doctors managed to stop her condition.
