A young Russian man has died after undergoing a tonsillectomy at a private medical center.
A 20-year-old patient came to the clinic on Dunaysky Prospekt for the removal of his tonsils.
The young man died after the surgery. An investigation has been launched into the incident, the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg reported.
It was established that the Russian had undergone surgery on August 22. He was scheduled to return for an examination on the 28th.
On the appointed day, the guy died during medical procedures, the Investigative Committee reported.
There is no information yet as to what exactly caused the death. The forensic examination will answer this question.
Based on its results, law enforcement officers will decide on further measures. The investigation is being conducted by employees of the Investigative Committee and the city prosecutor's office.
