It has become known that a group of terrorists has been detained in Dagestan.
According to information available to the Russian Federal Security Service, the criminals were planning to commit a major terrorist attack.
The agency's press service confirmed this information to RIA Novosti .
It is specified that FSB officers conducted joint operational-search work with employees of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As a result, 12 people were detained, who are members of a cell of a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation. The perpetrators were planning to commit a major terrorist act in Dagestan.
Searches were conducted at the places of residence of the detainees, where operatives found material evidence of the terrorists’ criminal activity.
FSB officers seized:
- 2 ready-to-use improvised explosive devices and components for making others;
- several units of small arms and ammunition;
- 20 bags weighing 1000 kilograms each, containing ammonium nitrate.
The FSB noted that the IEDs were destroyed at the site where they were discovered.
