Several people have been taken hostage in a French restaurant in a suburb of Paris.
The owner of a restaurant in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris has taken several of his employees hostage.
He has been keeping four of his employees in the establishment since midday, Le Figaro reports, citing the Paris Fire Brigade.
Police forces surrounded the restaurant, a few dozen meters from the Paris ring road.
Additional police and firefighters have been deployed to the restaurant as reinforcements.
Numerous police vehicles and armed, helmeted law enforcement officers blocked off streets along the security perimeter in the area.
Sources say the man who took the hostages is armed with a knife.
There are currently approximately four people in the establishment, being held by force by the owner of the premises.
Snipers arrived at the scene along with the police.
The Issy-les-Moulineaux area is cordoned off. The hostage situation continues to develop.
