A German citizen was sentenced to death in Belarus.
Rico Krieger was a defendant in the terrorist attack case and was found guilty.
The convicted man made this confession in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel.
Krieger said that he repents of his actions and hopes that he will be pardoned by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
According to the convicted man, the fact that the crime he committed was victimless speaks in his favor.
The sentence could be carried out at any moment...— the terrorist stated in an interview, saying that he regrets his actions every minute.
Circumstances of the case
Rico Krieger was recruited by the SBU to carry out the tasks they needed in Minsk.
He was asked to mine a railway station near the capital of Belarus, which he eventually did.
The man was convicted on several counts:
- act of terrorism;
- cooperation with the intelligence services of a foreign state;
- mercenarism;
- participation in an extremist group;
- illegal storage of explosives;
- intentional damage to communication routes.
