The Major General's defense filed a new appeal to the court.

Ivan Popov wants to appeal the house arrest to which he was transferred on July 15.

The officer's lawyers will challenge the decision of the 235th Garrison Military Court (Moscow), RIA Novosti reports.

The court granted the accused's request to transfer him to house arrest. The decision to that effect was made last Monday.

Popov was placed under house arrest for three months, until October 11. The court hearing on this matter was held behind closed doors.

Now the general's lawyers want to appeal the term of house arrest. It is noted that the court independently determined the term of arrest. The position of the investigators on this issue was not taken into account.

The lawyers prepared a complaint, which was accepted on July 18.
