The Russian FSB has uncovered a channel for transporting Africans to the European Union through Russian territory.
As a result of the operation, six members of the criminal group were detained.
The organizer turned out to be a teacher from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, writes RBC .
FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Russian National Guard officers detained five members and the organizer of the criminal group.
According to the agency, the group has been operating since 2021 and has earned at least 60 million rubles.
Criminals helped Africans move to the EU via Russia.
The group used schemes to conclude fictitious marriages with foreigners and establish paternity over Russian children.
Foreigners received temporary residence permits, residence permits and visas.
During searches at the sites, migration documents, passports, and communication equipment were confiscated.
Evidence of the crimes was found in the diaries of those detained.
