The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has released information that an attempt to commit a terrorist act was successfully thwarted in Sevastopol.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect in this case is a 51-year-old resident of Sevastopol.
The police said: "The man was recruited by the SBU via the Internet. He agreed to multiple criminal offenses," as reported by the Izvestia newspaper.
It is emphasized that the defendant also expressed his consent to collect information about transport infrastructure facilities for the purpose of committing terrorist attacks.

It is reported that the perpetrator told the police about taking an explosive device from an SBU cache.
As the man explained, he was supposed to plant explosives on a railway bridge in Sevastopol and then detonate them.
Officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia conducted a search of the defendant's apartment.
Law enforcement officials report that explosive devices that could have been used to commit a terrorist attack were found in the criminal’s home.
