Dagestani blogger, public figure and sports commentator Ramazan Rabadanov was detained on one of the central streets of Makhachkala.
The information about this was confirmed by the Chairman of the Public Monitoring Commission of Dagestan, Shamil Khadulaev, in his Telegram channel.
He wrote that Rabadanov was detained and is in a temporary detention facility in the capital of the republic.
Rabadanov became famous in the 1990s in Dagestan thanks to his vivid commentary on sports competitions.
He gained nationwide fame after his comments on the Euro 2008 football match between Russia and the Netherlands became popular online.
Shamil Khadulaev reported that Rabadanov was sent to the temporary detention facility in Makhachkala.
