Explosion rocks railway bridge in Russian region

An emergency on the railway in the Samara region has been reported.

Details were reported on Saturday, September 28, on the regional government’s Telegram channel.

The incident occurred on the territory of a railway bridge near the city of Kinel (1136th km).

An explosion occurred here. No one was hurt. The safety islands were damaged. The railway track was not damaged.

Security personnel arrived at the scene of the emergency. They are inspecting the explosion site and adjacent areas.

Representatives of the Kuibyshev Railway (a branch of Russian Railways) reported that the incident was caused by outside interference, RIA Novosti reports.

Passenger trains continue to operate. Freight train service on the 94–103 km section has been suspended.

FSB officers had previously detained 6 Russian citizens. They had set fires on railways. Three of the defendants were teenagers.

Foreign curators promised the performers a cash reward of 10-15 thousand rubles.

In addition, the suspects admitted that they were offered to target larger targets, such as blowing up a train or an airplane.
