Drunk Rescuer Tries to Cross Border with Russia in Estonia

In Estonia, a rescue worker, while intoxicated, attempted to cross the border into Russia.

The man was promptly detained by employees of the republic's authorized bodies.

The foreign publication Delfi writes on this matter: “On Thursday, Estonian border guards found a boat on Lake Lämmijärv,” as reported by Gazeta.ru .

The vessel entered Russian territory illegally.

Attempt to penetrate into the Russian Federation

Border guards managed to return the boat to Estonia. Searches showed that the vessel belonged to the republic's rescue department.

There was a drunk rescuer and two passengers on board. It was later discovered that the man was using the service boat without permission during non-working hours.

The spokesperson for the rescue department, Berit-Helena Lamp, spoke about the incident.

The official expressed regret that such an “unfortunate” incident had occurred.

Lamp also emphasized that the authorized bodies are establishing all the circumstances of this case.
