The incident occurred in the village of Bolshiye Kolpany in the Gatchina district.

Lacerated wounds left by an animal were found on the pensioner’s body.
According to the preliminary version, the Russian woman was injured as a result of an attack by her own dog.
Traces of the owner's blood were found on the pet's fur, but it was not possible to save her.
Media reports indicate that the woman died from lacerations to her neck and face.
A preliminary investigation is currently underway. Most likely, there is no criminal trace in this case, law enforcement officials believe.
