A high-ranking officer has been arrested in a corruption case.
Information about this appeared on Monday, September 2. It was reported that Major General Valery Mumindzhanov was detained in Voronezh.
The investigation claims that the officer broke the law when he headed the Defense Ministry's resource provision department, RIA Novosti reports.
The position he held allowed him to make decisions on choosing contractors for the supply of uniforms worth 1.5 billion rubles, including to the area where the special operation was taking place.
Muminjanov, using his position, helped interested parties obtain contracts. It is reported that for this he received a bribe of more than 20 million rubles.
A criminal case has been opened against the military man for receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.
Investigators have established that Muminjanov and his family are the owners of numerous real estate properties in Moscow and Voronezh.
The total value of assets is estimated at more than 120 million rubles.
