The clearing of rubble at the scene of the incident in Nizhny Tagil has been ongoing for more than a day.
According to updated information from the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Sverdlovsk Region, the death toll after the collapse of the building has risen to 10 people.
At 21:09 (Moscow time), the department’s press service reported on its Telegram channel that two more dead people had been pulled out from under the rubble.
Shortly before this, it was reported that the number of victims of the tragedy had reached 8. Now we are talking about ten dead.
During this time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees rescued 15 people from under the rubble, including seven minors.
About 1,000 tons of debris from construction structures and garbage have been removed from the scene. Rescuers continue their work at the scene of the emergency.
The incident in Nizhny Tagil occurred on the first day of August. The exact cause of the explosion that caused the collapse of two entrances of a residential building is still being determined.
According to preliminary data, there was a domestic gas explosion.
