Since the beginning of the harvesting campaign in Stavropol, cases of arson of wheat fields have been identified. Details are reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.
It is noted that the number of fires detected in the specified location during the wheat harvest was 34.
According to the press service, due to the fire, over 900 hectares of cereal crops were destroyed.
It was also noted there that specialists recorded 6 cases of arson. The necessary materials on this case were collected and handed over to law enforcement officers.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that frequent causes of field fires are equipment malfunctions and arson.
It is added that a criminal case was opened for one of the arsons. The fire broke out on Saturday, June 22. The damage amounted to 1.7 million rubles.
