The 59-year-old tech magnate has gone missing after his 180-foot yacht, Bayesian, sank.
Mike Lynch, dubbed the "British Bill Gates," may have been among the passengers on the ill-fated ship that sank off the coast of Italy.
His name is among four Britons missing after a yacht crash, Reuters reports.
Rescuers found his wife alive. Two Americans and a Canadian are also listed as missing.
Multimillionaire Lynch is the co-founder of software company Autonomy.
He was charged with fraud in the US until 2023. The case had been going on since 2011 and was related to the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard.
But last year, Lynch was acquitted of all 15 charges.
On August 18, he and his wife were passengers on the yacht Bayesian, which sank off the coast of Sicily as a result of a tornado.
