A Moscow court has placed blogger Valeria Chekalina under house arrest until November 26.
She is banned from using the internet as part of her house arrest in the new case.
According to the court ruling, Valeria Chekalina was placed under house arrest, the Telegram channel Courts of General Jurisdiction of the City of Moscow reports.
She, like her ex-husband Artem Chekalin, will remain under arrest until November 26, 2024.
Chekalina is accused of committing a crime under paragraphs "a", "b" of Part 3 of Article 193.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The blogger was suspected of carrying out currency transactions to transfer funds in foreign currency or Russian currency abroad to foreign accounts using forged documents.
Lerchek burst into tears in court and asked not to be deprived of the opportunity to earn money to support her children.
She recalled that she paid all her taxes and “started with a clean slate.”
Chekalina admitted that her only source of income remains blogging and filming on a federal channel.
