The trial of blogger Amid Yusubov took place in St. Petersburg.
The man was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for hatred of Russians.
The united press service of the courts of St. Petersburg reported this on its Telegram channel.
It is noted that the court found the blogger guilty under articles on public calls for extremist activity and incitement of hostility and hatred.
The convicted person will have to spend 3.5 years in a general regime penal colony.
Circumstances of the case
According to investigators, Yusupov demonstrated hatred towards Russians in September 2023.
Under one of the posts in the Telegram messenger, the blogger left voice messages that were listened to by linguists and psychologists.
Experts saw incitement of hatred on the basis of nationality in the man's words. Experts also noted that the blogger made threats to use violence.
At the same time, Yusupov himself refused to admit his guilt, demanding that the court reclassify the crime he was charged with as an article on inciting hatred or enmity (humiliation of human dignity).
