Work continues to eliminate the consequences of a passenger plane crash near the Kazakh city of Aktau.
The black box of the Embraer E190 AR aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, which crashed on December 25, was found at the scene of the incident.
Kazinform reports this with reference to a representative of the transport prosecutor's office.
During the investigation of the disaster, the black box will be decoded. Experts are currently working on this.
The crashed aircraft reportedly underwent a full technical inspection in mid-October of this year.
In addition, it is reported that the captain of the aircraft was an experienced pilot. He had flown 15,257 hours.
The relevant agencies are not yet rushing to draw conclusions about the causes of the incident.
There were 67 people on board at the time of the crash, including five crew members.
The Kazakh side reported that 38 people were killed.
There were 16 Russian citizens on board. Seven died, nine received injuries of varying severity.
The plane took off from Baku (Azerbaijan) and was heading to Grozny (Chechnya), but collided with a flock of birds on the way.
Subsequently, an emergency situation arose on board and a decision was made to fly to an alternate airfield in Aktau (Kazakhstan).
