Azimuth Airlines Reveals Causes of Fire on Superjet in Turkey

Azimuth Airlines has revealed the causes of the fire on a Superjet at Antalya Airport in Turkey.

The incident was the result of a rough landing due to strong winds, the company said.

At that time, a storm with heavy rains and gusty winds was raging in the region,

The engine of a plane flying from Sochi to Antalya caught fire immediately after landing.

The captain promptly made the decision to evacuate passengers via inflatable slides. All 89 passengers and 6 crew members were safely delivered to the terminal.

Azimuth emphasized that the Superjet was flying from Sochi to Antalya.

Rosaviatsia is investigating the incident. No passengers or crew members on board were injured.

Antalya airport confirmed that the evacuation took place without injuries or additional incidents.

There is currently no negative situation with the accommodation of passengers.
