Birds getting into engines could have caused the plane crash near Kolomna.

Representatives of aviation services spoke about the probable cause of the tragedy.

All important systems of the Superjet 100 aircraft could have failed due to birds getting into the engines, TASS reports, citing its sources.

This is one of the versions that is currently being considered by experts.

Experts explained that a bird entering an airplane engine creates a critical situation when the plane is flying at a low altitude and relatively low speed.

In such a case, a catastrophic situation develops in a matter of minutes.

An example is the so-called "Miracle on the Hudson". This episode occurred on January 15, 2009 in the USA.

Then the Airbus "caught" the birds with two engines at an altitude of about 900 m. The plane began to fall, but the pilots managed to land it on the water. There were no casualties.

A TASS source notes that the Superjet 100 was also at approximately the same altitude at the time the emergency occurred.
