Russian law enforcement officials have reported that the arrested former mayor of Sochi, Alexei Kopaigorodsky, could face a hefty prison sentence.
It is reported that Kopaigorodsky was involved in large-scale embezzlement.
Law enforcement officials explained: “Such an offense could result in 10 years of imprisonment,” as reported by TASS .
In addition, it is reported that the accused may be required to pay a substantial fine.
Committing a crime
As the police explained, investigative measures are currently being carried out against Kopaigorodsky.
Law enforcement officers intend to establish all the circumstances of the crime committed.
As the press emphasized, Alexey Kopaigorodsky left his post as head of Sochi in May of this year, 2024.
