An outbreak of intestinal infection was recorded in a school in the city of Kansk in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
18 children, one teacher and one technical worker of the school came to the hospital with symptoms of intestinal infection.
The prosecutor's office began an investigation after a mass infection at a school on November 20.
The Krasnoyarsk Territory prosecutor's office's Telegram channel reported: "18 children, a teacher, and a technical worker came forward with symptoms of infection."
It is emphasized that ten children required hospitalization.
In connection with the incident, a case is being investigated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The maximum penalty under this article is up to two years in prison.
The school meals were organized by an individual entrepreneur.
The investigation is being carried out by the prosecutor's office jointly with Rospotrebnadzor.
The school is also scheduled to undergo disinfection and assess the compliance of the food service organization with sanitary and epidemiological standards.
