The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported an emergency in a populated area of Dagestan.
An explosion occurred in the urban-type settlement of Leninkent (part of the urban district of Makhachkala).
The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Republic of Dagestan reports on its Telegram channel that the incident is about a cotton swab in a private residential building.
“A message was received via the 112 system that a bang had occurred in the Leninkent settlement in Makhachkala on Kizilyurtovskaya Street,” the department’s statement reads.
After receiving the message, regional emergency services workers were urgently dispatched to the scene.
There is information about one victim so far. He was hospitalized by the arriving medics. Information about the victim's condition is not provided.
The media reports that this was a domestic gas explosion.
