A pensioner set fire to a grocery store because of his hostility towards its owner.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan reported the incident on its Telegram channel.

A criminal case has been opened against the pensioner under the article on intentional damage to property. He has been sent home on bail.

Details of the incident

As specified in the publication, a 36-year-old local resident contacted the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reporting the arson of her store.

As a result, it turned out that a man born in 1939 was involved in the incident. At the moment, the pensioner is suing the victim over a plot of land.

The man told how he decided to take revenge on the owner of the disputed territory. He broke the window of a grocery store, poured flammable liquid into it, and then set it on fire.

As a result of illegal actions, the retail outlet suffered damages in the amount of 1 million rubles.
