A pensioner from Krasnoyarsk paid 865 thousand rubles to repair an old laptop

A fraud has come to light, due to which an elderly woman lost a large sum of money.

A dishonest repairman demanded more than 860 thousand rubles to repair an old laptop.

The press service of the Krasnoyarsk prosecutor's office reported the incident on its Telegram channel.

As the investigation revealed, the pensioner found a leaflet in her mailbox advertising a repairman who repairs old computers at a discount for seniors. The woman needed repairs to her laptop and system unit.

The 27-year-old repairman assured the pensioner that he would repair the equipment, the base cost of which did not exceed 10 thousand rubles.

As a result, the man demanded 865 thousand rubles from the pensioner for his work.

The fraudster justified his prices by saying that he additionally cleaned the computer from dust and dirt, as well as replaced the thermal paste and reinstalled the operating system.

The estimated cost of all the listed works should not be more than 3 thousand rubles, but the woman was confused and gave the fraudster all her money, and she had to borrow the missing 130 thousand from her son.

The woman realized that she had been deceived after the equipment returned to her did not work.

The man faces up to 6 years in prison under the fraud article.
