The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has released information that a mental health facility in Perm Krai has caught fire.
Fire services are working at the scene of the incident, eliminating the disaster.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry reported on its official Telegram channel: “We managed to rescue 16 people from the building engulfed in flames.”
At the moment there is no information about any injured citizens.
Sudden fire
It is also emphasized that 261 people were able to evacuate from the burning boarding school on their own.
It is reported that the fire was first reported by the wife of Russian Emergencies Ministry employee Yuri Potapchuk, who is an employee of the institution.
Potapchuk and his fourteen-year-old son managed to successfully evacuate the disabled guests.
As the employee of the Russian Emergencies Ministry pointed out, his son’s help became a significant support for him.
Today, authorized bodies are monitoring the situation and investigating the circumstances of the incident.
