A fire broke out at a waste disposal site in the Sovetsky district of Rostov-on-Don.
The total area of the fire was 2 thousand square kilometers.
The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Rostov Region subsequently reported that the fire had been localized and completely extinguished, as reported by TASS .

The head of the Rostov-on-Don administration, Aleksey Logvinenko, was the first to report that the open fire had been eliminated.
As rescue workers later determined, the garbage caught fire in the area of Mashinostroitelny Lane.
According to the assurances of the workers of the relevant teams, the fire initially covered 1 thousand square meters, but then spread further.
55 specialists and 27 units of special equipment took part in extinguishing the waste fire.
It is emphasized that the coordinated actions of the rescuers helped overcome the elements.
