Details of the preliminary investigation into a case of large-scale fraud have become known.

The Investigative Committee reported that a large sum of money was found in the accounts of former Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Pavel Popov.

The investigation has information that Popov had more than 30 million rubles in his accounts.

They have been arrested, the Investigative Committee's Telegram channel reports, citing the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.

She added that the property of the accused Vladimir Shesterov and Vyacheslav Akhmedov was also seized.

According to the Investigative Committee, its value exceeds 60 million rubles.

The committee said the criminal investigation is ongoing.
