A case of mass poisoning of children occurred in Yakutia.
The incident was recorded in the village of Petrovka, Kharansky Nasleg, where the boarding school is located.
The Yakut Ministry of Health reported the incident on its VKontakte page.
It is noted that the children were poisoned the day before, on October 4. 24 children were hospitalized, three of whom required outpatient treatment.
According to updated data, the number of victims has risen to 29. 25 children were hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of the local hospital, 4 are receiving outpatient treatment.
After the first calls, the staff of the Megino-Kangalasskaya Central Regional Hospital decided to deploy additional beds, taking into account the possible increase in the number of poisoned people.
Infectious disease doctors examined the victims and considered their condition stable.
It remains unknown why the children were poisoned.
District prosecutor Mikhail Sleptsov has arrived at the scene. The prosecutor's office intends to give its assessment of the sanitary and epidemiological situation at the boarding school.
